This seems to be a mental challenge. In perspective of holiness, it is divine goodness that we cannot describe except by our faith. "God saw all He had made, and indeed it was very good." (Gen 1:31) "God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on that day He had rested after all His work of creating." (Gen 2:3) Those verses convinced me that God is good all the time since He made everything in Heaven and earth. Since everything is good on seventh day, He blessed and made it holy. That is divine Goodness in retrospect. ;)

Hmm what is holiness? Holiness to me (in layman terms) is basically like what Fr. Fred would say, wholesome-ness. It is living each part of your life fully, as God intends it to be. It is a desire for God and to stop/repent all sinful deeds that prevent us from receiving from God or going towards God. Holiness is the WAY. Holiness is the narrow path towards eternal life. To me, it is one of the most important things we christians have to take note, in all the things we do - yet something that is often overlooked because we think we are holy by the good works or things we do. But we are made Holy by God's sanctifying Grace and not by our own actions. Our own deeds are a response of His Grace & Love (after being made holy). So when we serve, we can serve because we have been made Holy by God, to do these good works. If we serve God through any other motives or reasons, then our service is really unto ourselves, to gain human recognition rather than eternal treasures. My reflection kinda ties in with a lot of our service and weekly things we do in youth ministry. Hehe..
